Scholarships & Grants

DFI recognizes that the future of our industry depends on our ability to encourage and engage promising young engineers to consider careers in the deep foundations industry. The DFI Educational Trust, the charitable arm of DFI, provides scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students studying in the fields of geotechnical and foundation engineering and construction management.

Scholarships are available through school-specific funds, open to students at specific educational institutions, and at-large funds, open to students studying engineering or construction management.

Trust At-large Scholarships

The Educational Trust invites geotechnical and construction students to apply to its At-Large Scholarship program. Those attending accredited US institutions can submit one application that will be applied to several participating scholarships.

*Please only fill out one at-large application per student. At-large applicants will be considered for all at-large scholarships.

Paul DeBruyn Memorial Student Scholarship

The Educational Trust is proud to host the Paul DeBruyn Memorial Student Scholarship, through which students can apply to have the costs of attending a DFI conference covered.

Grants for Women in Deep Foundations

The DFI Educational Trust, in partnership with the DFI Women in Deep Foundations Committee, offer grants every year to women pursuing a career in deep foundations. The grant awards include complimentary attendance at the Annual Conference on Deep Foundations and funds to cover travel and lodging. Additionally, award recipients will be mentioned in a featured article of the Deep Foundations magazine.
