Merjan CCNY - DFI Educational Trust

Stanley Merjan City College of New York Civil Engineering Scholarship

Established in 2010 with the generous donations of founding corporate and individual sponsors, the scholarship is named for Stanley Merjan, an inspiration and mentor to young engineers throughout the construction industry. Merjan made a substantial personal contribution to kick off this endowed fund.

David Coleman, with Underpinning and Foundation Skanska, led the CCNY scholarship drive to raise an endowment of $200,000 for the fund in order to provide undergraduate civil engineering students with scholarships. This endowment goal was met on November 2014. Scholarships are awarded annually from the earnings of the fund at a total of $15,000 per year. Recipients must demonstrate a financial need and demonstrate an interest in the deep foundation industry via civil or geotechnical engineering. Annually the student recipients are recognized at the DFI Educational Trust Annual Gala Dinner held in November in the New York/New Jersey area.

Eligibility & Requirements

The scholarship is exclusively for individuals at City College of New York. Applications are made directly to the college, and the college selects the recipients.
