The DFI Educational Trust, through the DFI Women in Deep Foundations Committee, is awarding 11 Women in Deep Foundations (WiDF) Professional Development Grants of $1,750 each to women involved in design or construction of deep foundations. Applications are being accepted online April 1– May 15. Click on the link for eligibility requirements, submission criteria and the application.
Recipients are invited to attend DFI’s 50th Annual Conference on Deep Foundations in Nashville, Tennessee, October 20-23 . The grant defrays travel and related expenses for attending the conference. In addition, the recipients receive free conference registration and are recognized during the WiDF Committee’s networking reception on Monday, October 20.
“The WiDF Committee has seen a continual increase in applications for this grant in recent years,” says Emma Migneault of Worldsensing and chair of the WiDF Committee. “To increase the number of scholarships available for 2025, the committee organized a fundraising campaign at the annual conference last year. The DFI community rose to the occasion, with very generous donations to provide 11 full professional development grants from corporate sponsors.”
The corporate sponsors that made the grants possible are Bauer Foundation and Bauer Foundations Canada, Berkel & Company Contractors, Equipment Corporation America, Green Infrastructure Partners, Malcolm Drilling, Nicholson Construction, Nucor Skyline, Pile Dynamics Inc., Tarra Engineering and Structural Consultants, TEI Rock Drills, and Universal Engineering Sciences.
The DFI Women in Deep Foundations Committee is comprised of women and men who are advocates for supporting and retaining women working in any capacity in the deep foundations industry. The goal is to foster greater success and interest of professional women in the industry by promoting networking events, endorsing outreach and building mentoring relationships.
